Apart from the art, does Midas Christmas Edition differ from Midas Golden Touch?
Only in its list of RTP builds, as far as we could measure. The demo plays the same 15 lines on 5 reels and 3 rows, wilds that double a line for each one on it up to x32, 10 free spins for three Scatters (15 and 20 for four and five) with sticky respins and a random wild before each spin, and the 96.17% RTP, 10,100x cap and 80x buy of the Reborn build reviewed here. Its certification report lists the Reborn's configuration files too. Below the top build, the information sheet names 94.13% and 87.17% versions, where the Reborn has 94.13%, 92.14% and 90.14%.
A wreath for the laurel, a star for the sun
The change is mostly on the surface. Behind the columns the sky is a starry night, snow lies on the reel frame, and Christmas trees and candles stand at the foot of the columns, while the red banners carry a gold star where the Reborn's show a golden hand.

King Midas himself swaps his gold laurel crown for a green wreath flecked with white and wears fur trim on his red robe. A gold star replaces the Reborn's sun emblem on the temple-door Scatter, the chest is full of ornaments, and the red cushion with a laurel wreath now sits among Christmas baubles. Card ranks carry sprigs of holly, and in the corner the client label reads "Midas Golden Touch Christmas Edition 1.26.7".

One RTP version apart, every published figure matches the Reborn build
Side by side, the festive edition and Midas Golden Touch agree on RTP, volatility, cap, lines and buy, to the second decimal. The eCOGRA report for the Christmas Edition, published by Thunderkick, describes "Midas Golden Touch" as a 3x5 slot and lists configuration files under tk-s1-g53, the Reborn's game ID.
| Game | Released | RTP | Volatility | Max win | Cheapest buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Midas Christmas Edition | November 2023 | 96.17% | High | 10,100x | 80x |
| Midas Golden Touch | 2022 | 96.17% | High | 10,100x | 80x |
| Midas Golden Touch 2 | April 2024 | 94.27% | Medium | 15,000x | 100x |
| Midas Golden Touch 3 | April 2025 | 94.16% | High | 15,000x | 100x |
| Midas Thunder Pots | August 2026 | 94.22% | High | 10,100x | 50x |
The numbered games are another matter. Midas Golden Touch 2 and Midas Golden Touch 3 reach 15,000x and charge 100x or more for their buys, and their demo builds run below 95%. We take Thunderkick's launch press release at its word and treat this one as a festive-themed version of the 2019 game.
A dropped wild on every free spin, then respins until the locking stops
Three Scatters start 10 free spins, played at the bet that triggered them. Before each one a single wild drops onto reel 2, 3 or 4, and in each of the 40 free spins the server logged for us it kept to those three reels. A win then sets off respins. Its symbols lock on gold tiles while the other cells spin, each new winning symbol locks too, and the free spin is paid when a respin locks nothing new.

Wilds stay only as locked parts of a win; in our logs, one that won nothing had gone by the next free spin. Three or more Scatters in one free spin, respins included, add 10 more, and a meter under the reels shows each Scatter collected. It never happened for us. The nearest miss, two Scatters in one free spin, came twice.
Three wilds on spin 440 paid more than both bonus rounds in our 750
Our €750.00, staked at €1.00 a spin, earned €405.00 back, or 54.0%. Ordinary spins accounted for €380.00 of it and the two natural Bonus Games for €25.00.
- 750paid spins at €1.00 in the demo
- 54.0%of the stakes paid back
- 57xbest single spin
- 2free spins rounds triggered
Spin 440 put a wild at the top of reel 3 and two more on reel 4, and four lines of the same card rank ran through them at x4 and x2: €28.00, €14.00, €10.00 and €5.00, together 57x. Lines with a wild on them brought in €252.00 of the base game's €380.00, and no base-game line held more than two wilds, so x4 (7 lines) was our ceiling there.
Spin 117's bonus round paid 18x, two thirds of it from one free spin where a four-symbol line ran through two wilds; spin 431's paid 7x. Only on spin 16 did the balance stand above its start, and the last spin left it at its lowest, €4,655.00. Our Reborn log of the same length returned 93.0%, a third of it from one 230x round on spin 73.
Between €16.00 and €221.00 back from each €80.00 purchase
The single buy is the Reborn's too, 80x the bet for a spin with at least three Scatters, rated at 96.43% by Thunderkick.

The buy's 96.43% applies to the 96% build on Thunderkick's game page, which is what this demo plays. Casinos can pick from the 94.13% and 87.17% builds in the information sheet instead, and some markets do without the buy.
| Option | Price | At €1.00 | RTP of the buy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bonus Game, 3+ scatters | 80x | €80.00 | 96.43% |
All three purchases stopped at the minimum, three Scatters for 10 spins. One control buy paid €16.00. The other paid €221.00, with €164.00 from free spin 3, where three respins locked twelve of the fifteen positions, six of them wilds, and one line reached x8; free spin 7 added €38.00 after five respins.
Our filmed round came in between, at €25.00, its biggest piece €12.00 on free spin 5, when a top row of 10s locked around a wild on reel 2. Together the three buys returned €262.00 for €240.00. Anyone who knows the Reborn will find the same game in winter clothes, with a bonus that in our buys paid anything from small change to a couple of hundred times the stake.
What a Reborn player might still ask
We answer them from the help screens, Thunderkick's sheet and press material, and the demo server's records of our rounds.
Is this a sequel to Midas Golden Touch?
No. Thunderkick's launch announcement calls it a festive-themed version of one of its top titles, and its rules, figures and buy match the Reborn build. Numbered sequels came later, Midas Golden Touch 2 in April 2024 and Midas Golden Touch 3 in April 2025, each with features of its own.
Do the wilds stay in place during the free spins?
Only while they are part of a win. A winning wild locks with the other winning symbols for the respins, and each free spin opens with a fresh random wild. Thunderkick's 2025 Christmas round-up calls them sticky wilds, but the help screens tie the locking to winning symbols, and no wild that won nothing in our logs was still there on the next spin.
How many free spins come with four or five Scatters?
15 and 20, by the scatter page of the help screens, against 10 for three. Every trigger we logged, two natural, two control buys and the filmed purchase, had exactly three Scatters, so we never saw the longer starts.
Can the free spins be extended?
Yes, by 10 at a time, whenever three or more Scatters land in one free spin or its respins. None of our five rounds managed it, so each ended after its first 10 spins.
Which RTP versions does the Christmas Edition have?
Three, by Thunderkick's information sheet: 96.17% (the build in this demo), 94.13% and 87.17%. For the Reborn, Thunderkick's documents list 94.13%, 92.14% and 90.14% beside its 96.17%, so the two editions share their two highest figures and part ways below them.
