Has Midas Thunder Pots kept anything from Midas Golden Touch?

Most of the base game. The 5x3 grid, the 15 lines, the 75.00 top pays at €1.00, the wild that doubles a line up to x32 and the 10,100x cap all match the Reborn build. The bonus is new: one coloured Scatter can open 6 free spins with an added wild on each, and its chest sets the power-up, x3 wilds, sticky respins or extra wilds. The listed RTP falls from 96.17% to 94.22%.

Same temple, same 15 lines, same doubling wild

The marble columns, red banners and golden hand are back, and so is the rule that carried Midas Golden Touch: every wild in a winning line multiplies it by two, so five give x32. The rules screen prices the wild and King Midas at 75.00 for five in a row at our €1.00 stake, with 20.00 for four of a kind and 10.00 for three, exactly as in the Reborn build.

What is new sits above the reels: a blue, a white and a red chest that collect Scatters of their colour, which the rules call purely cosmetic. A BET+ switch beside the reels goes unexplained in the rules we captured.

The doubling wild did little on its own in our 750 paid spins. A line was doubled on 17 of them, for €34.00 in all, and no line ever held two wilds. The base-game screens paid €138.00, no winning spin fell below the stake, and the best single spin was 7x.

One coloured door is enough, but most of them open nothing

Blue, white and red Scatters can land on any reel, at most one of each per spin. Any combination of colours awards 6 free spins with one added wild on every spin, and the colours that are active decide the power-ups. Opening a new chest during the free spins resets the count to 6.

A Scatter showed on 354 of our base-game spins, and the Bonus Game followed on 14, 10 of them from a single door. The 8 spins that showed all three colours opened nothing, and none of the 131 white Scatters we saw started a round. Seven rounds began with blue alone, six with red alone and one with both.

A white door lands at the top of reel 4 on the second free spin of our filmed round, the white chest above the reels overflows, and FREE SPINS RESET sets the counter back to 6.

Blue for x3 wilds, white for respins, red for extra wilds

The part of the rules we captured describes two of the three chests. With blue, every wild counts x3 instead of x2, so two on one line make x9. With white, each win sets off Sticky Respins: winning symbols lock in place and the rest spin again until nothing new wins, the bonus mechanic of the Reborn game turned into one option of three.

Midas Thunder Pots Chest Bonuses rules
The Chest Bonuses page as far as our capture reaches: blue raises wild multipliers from x2 to x3, a red wild card turning into a blue one, and white starts Sticky Respins on every win.

The red chest's text lies below the part of the page we captured. The game names it on the card shown before the free spins, EXTRA WILDS, and the server's answers fit the name: with only red open, two to five wilds were added on each free spin, where blue alone added exactly one. In our log the six rounds with red alone paid €33.83 on average, the six that stayed blue only €23.42.

750 spins in which the bonus did most of the paying

Played at €1.00 each, our 750 paid spins took in €750.00 and paid out €666.00, 88.8% against a listed 94.22%. A sample this size cannot confirm or contradict the RTP.

  • 750paid spins at €1.00 in the demo
  • 88.8%of the stakes paid back
  • 143.5xbest round, free spins included
  • 14free spins rounds triggered

Only 13.1% of spins paid anything, typically 2x the stake at the median, and one dry run went 37 spins. The Bonus Game came round 14 times, about once in 54 spins, and its free spins paid €528.00, 79.3% of everything returned. The base-game screens alone gave back 18.4% of the stakes.

Running balance of our 750 paid spins at €1.00: €5,000.00 at the start (dashed line), minus every stake, plus every win. Pink dots mark the spins that started free spins.

It was the blue chest that opened our best round, on spin 163. Red opened on the first free spin and reset the count, so it ran to 7 spins, the last six with two to five x3 wilds each, and lines at x9 paid most of its 143.5x. The balance peaked at €5,184.50 with the round on spin 227 and ended at its lowest, €4,916.00, on the last spin.

Our natural Bonus Game from the filming session at €1.00, with sound: a red door opens EXTRA WILDS for 6 free spins, a white door on the second resets the count to 6 while that spin pays 24.00, sticky respins follow later wins, the last paying 22.00, and the round ends at 70.50.

The reset made that round 8 free spins long. After the white door, every win locked its symbols and the reels spun again; four respin runs paid 2.00, 17.50, 1.00 and 22.00.

50x, 100x or 250x for a head start in chests

Options in the BUY FEATURE menu are named by how many chests start open. Our frame shows 1+ Chests at €50.00 and 2+ Chests at €100.00 on a €1.00 bet and cuts off the third, which the demo server lists as 3+ Chests at 250x. None of this appears on Thunderkick's game page; the prices and RTPs are the demo server's.

Midas Thunder Pots chest buy prices
The buy menu at a 1.00 bet: 1+ Chests for 50.00 and 2+ Chests for 100.00, with the top of a third chest marked 3 at the bottom edge.

We bought 1+ Chests twice in a control session. The first opened blue alone, ran 6 spins and returned €7.00. The second started with white and blue, red joined on the fourth free spin, and in 10 spins it returned €110.50, €74.00 of it from one respin run. The filming session's purchase did not go through, so the clip above is a natural round; the dearer options stay untested.

Where Thunder Pots and the Reborn build part ways

In the Reborn game three or more golden doors are needed, and they bring 10, 15 or 20 free spins in which every win respins and a random wild lands on each spin. Here a single coloured door can open a shorter round of 6, and respins are just one of three chest powers.

Our logs show the trade. The Reborn reached its bonus 3 times in 750 spins and returned 93.0%, its best round worth 230x; Midas Thunder Pots reached it 14 times and returned 88.8%, best 143.5x. The Reborn sells one buy, at 80x.

Midas Thunder Pots, the newest game on this site, suits players who would rather see free spins often and in small rounds. Anyone after the long respin rounds of the original should start with the Reborn build. For wilds that stay on the reels instead, The Wildos sticks every wild in place for its whole bonus.

The chest questions our logs could settle

Five short answers; each rests on the rules, a frame, the demo server's settings or our logs.

What happens to the spin counter when a second chest opens?

It goes back to 6. We saw that three times: the round from spin 163 ran to 7 free spins, our filmed round to 8 and a bought one to 10. A Scatter of a new colour does not always open its chest: during the bonus that began on spin 49, a red one landed on the third free spin and nothing changed.

Did the white chest ever open on its own in our log?

No. White Scatters showed up 131 times in our 750 base-game spins without starting a round. We saw the white chest's sticky respins only when it joined a round in progress, in our filmed bonus, and at the start of one bought round.

How much does a wild multiply with the blue chest open?

Each wild counts x3 instead of x2, and wilds on the same line multiply: two made x9 in our log, where the base game's rule gives x4. With the blue chest alone, one wild was added on every free spin.

What does the BET+ switch beside the reels do?

The captured rules do not explain it. The demo server lists two ante options, at 2x and 4.5x the stake, and Thunderkick's game page mentions neither. The switch stayed off for all our spins, each of which cost €1.00.

Which of the two Midas games has the higher cap?

Neither. The demo server caps both Midas Thunder Pots and Midas Golden Touch at 10,100x the bet. They differ in RTP instead: 94.22% here against 96.17% for the Reborn build.
