How do you trigger free spins in Pink Elephants 2?
Land three or more gold scatter medallions in the base game: three, four, five or six of them start 7, 11, 15 or 19 free spins. On any base spin, one to five Mystery Scatters can also appear, and the rules picture shows each one turning into a scatter. The other route is the Buy Feature menu, which sells the round from 60x the bet with at least three scatters up to 250x with at least six. In our 750 spins at €1.00, free spins started three times on their own.
Six reels of goats, rune stones and 4,096 ways
The board is 6x4: six reels, four symbols high, set in a grassy valley under a cartoon sky, with curved standing stones on either side. Wins work as connecting pay ways. Matching symbols must start on the first reel and continue to the right on consecutive reels, on any row, with no gaps, which gives 4,096 connecting pay ways across the grid. Each way pays only its highest win, and every way win in a round is added up and shown at the end.
The low symbols are carved rune stones marked 9, 10, J, Q, K and A. Above them sit goats in coloured rings: a white goat in a blue ring, a green goat, a goat with beads in an orange ring and a bearded old ram in a pink ring. The Pink Elephant tops the table. The wild is a white W on a pink tile inside a gold frame, and it replaces every symbol except the scatter.

The rules list the two top symbols for six, five and four on a way. At a €1.00 bet the Pink Elephant pays 10.00, 6.50 and 4.50, and the bearded ram pays 7.00, 5.00 and 3.00. The values for three of a kind sit at the cut edge of our capture and the lower symbols are further down the page, so we do not quote them.

According to Thunderkick's test reports, this Reborn build from 2022 is a separately certified version of the 2020 original with its own game ID. It brings the Feature Buy and a set of RTP versions, while the goats, the grid and the bonus mechanics stay as they were.
The Mystery Scatter in the base game
Ordinary scatters are not the only way into the bonus. The rules say that on any base-game spin, between one and five Mystery Scatter symbols may be triggered, and the picture beside that line shows a round pink-and-green token turning into the gold scatter medallion. Each one counts towards the three scatters the bonus needs.

In our 750 logged spins the feature fired on five spins. Three of them did not lead to the bonus and paid nothing; the other two, spins 355 and 668, started free spins, each time with two Mystery Scatters in the count. Five cases are far too few to say how often the feature helps.
What 750 paid spins at €1.00 returned
Our session was 750 paid spins at €1.00 on Thunderkick's play-money server, starting from €5,000.00. It returned €669.30 of €750.00 staked, or 89.2%. That is 6.9 points under the 96.13% RTP. A short sample of a game rated High can land far from that figure in either direction, so read it as a record of one session.
- 750paid spins at €1.00 in the demo
- 89.2%of the stakes paid back
- 186.2xbest round, free spins included
- 3free spins rounds triggered
The balance peaked early. Spin 1 paid 20.6x, and after spin 2 the balance stood at €5,022.20, a level it never reached again. From there it slid until spin 667, where it bottomed out at €4,799.10. The next spin was the session's best round, and the balance closed at €4,919.30. In all there were 176 wins (23.5% of spins) and dry spells of up to 16 spins in a row. The median win was 1.2x, slightly more than the stake, and 11 spins paid 10x or more. The best base-game spin was 27.2x on spin 517.
Free spins started naturally on spins 160, 355 and 668. The first two opened with 7 spins for three scatters, both filled two of the four symbol meters, and both ran to 9 spins with the extra ones. Spin 160 paid 44.7x in total, most of it from a single free spin worth 36x; spin 355 paid 10.2x. The third round started with four scatters and 11 spins, gained 3 more twice when two scatters landed inside it, filled three meters for 3 more and ran to 20 spins. It paid 186.2x, the best result of the session, and 168x of that came on its nineteenth free spin.
We recorded that clip in a second demo session for this page, so it is not one of the 750 logged spins. The cheapest buy cost 60x the bet and returned €22.80 on a €60.00 stake, less than half of the price. One bought round says nothing about the average: Thunderkick lists an RTP of 96.33% for this option.
Buy Feature prices from 60x to 250x
The Buy Feature button opens a scrolling menu. Each option guarantees a minimum number of scatters for the bonus, from at least three at 60x the bet to at least six at 250x. With more scatters the round starts with more free spins, as the table in the rules shows.

Thunderkick attaches its own RTP to every level, and it rises with the price, from 96.33% to 96.60%, each one higher than the 96.13% RTP of ordinary spins. These figures belong to the version on Thunderkick's game page, the one this demo runs. Thunderkick's test reports and information sheets list lower certified versions as well (94.15%, 92.11%, 90.10%); which of them a casino runs is the casino's choice, and some markets disable the feature buy.
| Option | Price | At €1.00 | RTP of the buy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feature Buy, at least 3 scatters | 60x | €60.00 | 96.33% |
| Feature Buy, at least 4 scatters | 100x | €100.00 | 96.43% |
| Feature Buy, at least 5 scatters | 150x | €150.00 | 96.54% |
| Feature Buy, at least 6 scatters | 250x | €250.00 | 96.60% |
Our media session tried the cheapest option, but the purchase did not go through, so we have no bought round to show here. The buy levels are listed as Thunderkick's demo server reports them.
Elephant Orbs and the four symbol meters
The free spins have one mechanic of their own. Elephant Orbs land during the round and fill four symbol meters, each tied to a symbol. When a meter is full, its symbol is replaced by the next mid-win symbol up the pay table, and the round gains one extra free spin.

When the last meter fills, every mid-win symbol turns into the Pink Elephant for the rest of the round. The intro screen shows three Pink Elephants above its line about symbols upgrading in the Bonus Game. Scatters keep working inside the round as well: two of them add 3 spins, and six add 11.

A few general rules complete the picture. Bets cannot be changed while a round is in progress, the space bar starts a spin on a desktop, and the rules add that autoplay may not be available.
Pink Elephants 2 among the Thunderkick games on this site
The obvious comparison is Esqueleto Explosivo 2, which shares the 96.13% RTP but runs on 99 pay ways with a medium rating, a 5,000x cap and a single buy at 75x. Its action builds inside one spin through dropping symbols, while here the build-up happens across the free spins as meters fill.
On the same 6x4 layout, Carnival Queen uses 4,096 pay ways with avalanches, a medium rating and a 22,700x cap. Its default RTP is 94.16%, lower than the 96.13% of Pink Elephants 2.
For a steeper game, Griffin's Gold is rated very high, plays on 9 paylines and allows up to 22,222x, with one bonus buy at 125x.
Is Pink Elephants 2 a good fit for you?
This is a game to judge by its free spins. In our session the base game paid on fewer than one spin in four, with the Mystery Scatter as its one surprise, while the rules keep the big change for the bonus, where full meters turn goats into elephants. With a High rating and a 10,000x cap, expect quiet stretches between the good spins.
The 4 buy levels make it easy to see the bonus in the demo without waiting, and the jump in price from 60x to 250x buys more starting spins rather than a different feature. Try the cheapest level first with play money, then a natural trigger, and compare how quickly the meters fill.
Pink Elephants 2: four quick answers
Each answer comes from the rules screens, Thunderkick's own figures or our logged session.
Can I play Pink Elephants 2 for free here?
Yes. The demo window loads Thunderkick's own client with €5,000.00 of play money. Nothing is deposited and nothing real is paid out. There are 14 bet steps from €0.10 to €100.00, the client starts at €1.00, and the Buy Feature menu opens in the demo as well.
How many free spins can you get?
Three to six scatters in the base game give 7, 11, 15 or 19 free spins. Inside the round, two to six scatters add 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 more, and every filled symbol meter adds one. Two of our natural rounds started with 7 spins and finished with 9 after two meters filled; the third began with 11 and reached 20 after two retriggers and three full meters.
What is the top prize in Pink Elephants 2?
The demo server sets the ceiling at 10,000x the bet, or €10,000.00 at the default €1.00. It is a ceiling, not a typical result: the best round in our 750 spins paid 186.2x.
What do the four buy levels change?
Each level guarantees a minimum number of scatters, from at least 3 for 60x to at least 6 for 250x. More scatters mean more starting spins, and the RTP Thunderkick gives for each level rises from 96.33% to 96.60%.
